WAI360

Hardware-lite indoor–outdoor navigation for hospitals, malls, campuses, airports and metro stations. Visitors are located from a single smartphone image and guided to their destination in AR.

IN USE AT HEALTHCARE FACILITIES
WAI360 indoor navigation with AR path guidance
01OVERVIEW

Seamless wayfinding, from car park to consultation room

GPS stops working at the door, and beacon networks are costly to install and maintain. WAI360 uses a proprietary Visual Positioning System and soundwave-based positioning to locate users indoors with minimal hardware.

A unified indoor–outdoor coordinate system joins buildings and their surroundings into one navigable space, with open APIs for robots and kiosks.

A · CHALLENGELarge, complex, GPS-blind buildingsHospitals, transport hubs and campuses are hard to navigate, and satellite positioning fails indoors. Conventional indoor positioning depends on dense hardware that is expensive to deploy and maintain.
B · SOLUTIONPositioning from the phone in handWAI360 combines visual and soundwave-based positioning with a unified indoor–outdoor map, then guides users with AR directions and adaptive routes.
C · BENEFITSBetter visitor experience, lighter footprint
  • —Minimal hardware to install and maintain
  • —Continuous guidance indoors and out
  • —Less reliance on staff for directions
  • —Ready for robots, kiosks and future services
